Announcements for the Week of 7/6/2025
1. The Diocese of Las Cruces is beginning a new chapter in the formation of our future priests. We are opening two local seminaries to house and form our seminarians here within the diocese. The seminarians will live, receive their formation, and undergo all their studies locally. In celebration of this event, Bishop Baldacchino is inviting you to join him for Solemn Vespers at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Tuesday, July 15th at 6:00 pm. Vespers will be followed by a reception in Finley Hall. Come join the bishop in celebration and meet the seminarians studying for the Diocese of Las Cruces.
2. The Altar and Rosary Society Garage Sale will be on Saturday, August 2 from 7 to 11 am in the parish hall. We will be accepting new and gently used items during the week of July 28 through August 1. Please see the bulletin for all the details.
3. Registration for OCIA, or Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, begins on July 14. Please come to the office or email us if you would like a registration form. OCIA is for adults who are Catholics but have not received all their sacraments, or for non-Catholics who are inquiring about the Catholic faith. This year, the class will be held on Sunday evenings. More information will be provided in August.
4. Registration for the 2025–2026 Youth Faith Formation (YFF) year is now open! Forms are available on the Assumption Parish website, at the church office, and during in-person registration:
- Wednesdays, July 16 & 23
4:00–7:00 PM in the Conference Room - After all Sunday Masses, July 26 & 27
Register early and receive a $20 discount! Early registration helps ensure we have enough books and materials for all students.
5. Volunteers are needed for YFF. We are seeking catechists, aides, and substitutes for several classes. Please prayerfully consider helping with this important ministry.

6. Due to the secretary having a medical appointment, the parish office will open at 9:30 am this coming Monday, July 7. On Tuesday, we will resume normal hours.
7. Next weekend we will have the Good Shepherd second collection, which allows parishioners to share resources with those parishes in our diocese unable to raise sufficient emergency funds when needed for facility repairs. Thank you for all your donations!
8. And now we would like to invite a representative from St. John’s to talk about the youth retreat.
