Announcements for the Week of 7/13/2025
1. The ushers will now take the Good Shepherd second collection. Thank you for all your donations!
2. The Diocese of Las Cruces is beginning a new chapter in the formation of our future priests. We are opening two local seminaries to house and form our seminarians here within the diocese. The seminarians will live, receive their formation, and undergo all their studies locally. In celebration of this event, Bishop Baldacchino is inviting you to join him for Solemn Vespers at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Tuesday, July 15th at 6:00 pm. Vespers will be followed by a reception in Finley Hall. Come join the bishop in celebration and meet the seminarians studying for the Diocese of Las Cruces.
3. St. John’s Parish will be hosting a youth retreat July 25 through 27. If you’re interested, please see the flyer on the bulletin boards.
4. The Altar and Rosary Society Garage Sale will be on Saturday, August 2, from 7 to 11 AM in the parish hall. Please see the flyer for more information.
5. Registration for OCIA, or Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, begins on July 14. Please come to the office or email us if you would like a registration form.
6. Youth Faith Formation catechists, aides, and substitutes are needed for a few of our classes. Please pray about volunteering for this important ministry for our youth. If you would like to help, download a volunteer application from our website, pick up a form at the church office, or call Carol Dutchover, Director of Religious Education, afternoons Monday through Friday.
7. Registration for Youth Faith Formation is open! Registration forms are available on the Assumption website and in the parish office. You can register in person on Wednesdays, July 16 and 23, from 4 to 7 PM in the conference room, and after Sunday Masses the weekend of July 26 and 27. Take advantage of the $20 early registration discount and help ensure we have enough books and supplies for all students.
