Announcements for the Week of 8/31/2025

1. Next week, we’ll have the second collection for The Catholic University of America, which is a research university of the Catholic Church. Gifts to the National Collection – the only second collection taken for higher education in the US – support students during this crucial time and helps the university conduct critical research that will serve parishes and dioceses throughout the country. Thank you for all your donations!
2. Renovation work on the parking lot is currently underway. Please exercise caution and avoid entering any closed sections of the construction site. New concrete has been poured around the Good Shepherd Statue, and fresh asphalt has been laid in part of the area in front of the parish office. To access the parish office, please park in front of the parish hall, where a sidewalk leads directly to the office entrance. For those walking to the Church from the parking lots in front of the parish hall or school, please use the sidewalk located behind the parish office, near the Stations of the Cross.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the parking lot renovation. While we are grateful for your generosity, we have not yet fully secured the funding to complete the project. Please take a look at the letter in the parish bulletin for more information.
3. Faith Formation registration closes on September 4th.
4. OCIA will start Sunday, September 7, at 6 PM.
5. We warmly invite children to become part of our Parish Altar Servers Ministry and encourage parents to support their child's participation in this meaningful role. Altar Servers play an important part in assisting with the celebration of the Mass, and joining this ministry is a wonderful way for young people to actively live out their faith. While it will require some of their time and your commitment, serving at the altar is a beautiful expression of devotion and involvement in the life of Assumption Parish. We hope you will consider this invitation and discuss it as a family. Any student who has received First Holy Communion and whose family is registered with Assumption Parish is eligible to train as an altar server. Our first meeting will take place on September 13th at 12 PM. If your child is interested, we kindly ask parents to contact the parish office and provide their child’s name.
6. The parish office will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
